BIRTHDAY MOUSE

I've had quite a traumatic week with one thing and another so haven't had time to do any crafting and I'm way behind with the cards I've been asked to make, so I apologise for not posting much this week. Hopefully things will settle down a bit now and get back to normal....whatever normal may be....

Today I have a card that I made at a workshop at one of my local craft shops recently. I wanted to show this card as I love the image and the papers are beautiful. Again I didn't finish it in the class, (I never seem to finish anything in these classes) but I didn't put it on one side never to be completed either....as is my norm....a very bad habit of mine.

The image is one of the House Mouse stamps and its coloured with Copics which I'm rubbish with. We were given everything to make the card in kit form but when I got home I changed a few things from the original card, there was another image on the original but I have saved this to make another card and I added some roses in its place.  I had a lovely few hours in the Sunday afternoon class.  The original card was designed and taught by Kate. Thank you Kate I had a lovely, relaxing afternoons crafting.

MEET CUSTARD!

Its looks as though its going to be another sunny day today although there's a fresh bite to wind....oh the wind, I hate the wind....I don't mind any kind of weather but I hate the wind....its still quite gusty here at the moment but dying down a bit now.

Today I have another bright and sunny card to show...

This is another stamp that I bought a long time ago and have never got round to inking up. The image is Custard, a Sugar Nellie stamp.  The papers I've used for this card are from the Wild Rose Studio ~ Spring Fling. I used Promarkers to add a little colour and I tried a touch of blending (with the blender pen) on the black/grey patches and the pink to her nose. The border punch is from Martha Stewart. I tried to keep the embellishments simple as I thought the papers were bright and fancy enough.

PRETTY IN PINK

Why is it Monday always comes round so quickly.....the weekends are never long enough and seem to vanish in a flash. Never mind, next weekends a little longer with the Bank Holiday so I can look forward to that. Today I have this card...

For some reason the picture appears to have a greeny/blue tinge but I did take it late last night when the light was fading....must brush up on my camera skills.

This is a Magnolia stamp and I must admit she's one of my favourites. I've coloured her with Promarkers and I've used another of my favourite paper pads here...Papermania ~ Rose Garden. I've just added some ribbon, a few pearls and some Stickles to her skirt and flower.

PICKING FLOWERS

The suns out today but its really windy and as I was feeling quite summery today I went for some brighter colours with this card.

This is another stamp that I've had for ages but have never got round to inking up. The image is another Sugar Nellie stamp ~ Country Garden. The papers are My Mind's Eye ~ Mabel. Again I have coloured with Promarkers. The border punch is Martha Stewart and of course the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

A LITTLE BIRD

I haven't had a lot of time this week to do any crafting...busy, busy, busy...so today I was determined to crack on with the housework so this afternoon I could sit down to make a card. I have had an idea in my head all week to make this card...but my cards never turn out quite how I imagined them.

The image I have used is a Sugar Nellie stamp ~ Goujuss ~ A Little Birdie Told Me. I coloured her with Promarkers. The papers are g.c.d studios ~ Ella Blue...I've had these ages but never had the courage to cut into them. I used a Martha Stewart border punch and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The inspiration for this card was this picture from the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge :~

I love these colours but then again I love all colours, and tomorrow a different combination will be my favourite.

90TH BIRTHDAY

Today I have card for a man, (well two cards actually). Unfortunately men's cards are not my greatest creations and I take ages to come up with an idea but I managed in the end. I was asked to make a 90th birthday card for a very special gentleman, and I was asked to make it by an equally special lady, my ex-mother-in-law. The card is for her dad who is 90 on Friday.

I've had this stamp for quite a long time but it has served me well over the last couple of years. It is a Funstamp called Gent's Waistcoat. I stamped the image on several pieces of different patterned card and then cut them out and layered them up to give a decoupage effect.

The second card I made was for myself and my daughter to send.

This card was not meant to look quite like this...the idea was to use a Nestie as a frame and some Distress Inks to create a background but I was a bit too over enthusiastic with the inks and caught ink on the outside of the Nestie, not to be put off I continued until I ended up with a white frame...in the end I quite like the effect. I then just stamped some trees in black over the inked shape and added a sentiment.

LITTLE FLOWER

Today I have a card that I made last night...late last night.
I was sorting through my stack of paper pads and found another pad that I haven't used yet, so inspired by the papers and another new stamp I set to work on this card and didn't go to bed until it was finished. I thought I would sleep really well but I didn't and found myself up at the crack of dawn trying to take a photo of the card with the first light.

All said and done the photos not great but never mind. The papers are Kaisercraft and the image is a stamp from The Wild Rose Studio. I coloured her with Promarkers and Stickled both her bows and her wings. The border punch is from Martha Stewart.

PINK AND BROWN

I seem to be on a roll at the moment. Today I managed to make three cards, that's a record for me...normally takes me ages to come up with ideas when I'm asked to make cards for other people.  Two cards I've made for a reason but the card I'd like to show this evening is another I've made just for fun....

The pinks are brighter than this but the lighting wasn't great when I took the photo. The image is a new Tilda stamp that I picked up recently and she's coloured with Promarkers...seem to struggle with the pinks for some reason. The papers are a mixture of Basic Grey and Craft Creations and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch and my faithful old Woodware leaf punch. I added some stickles to her bow and the frilly bits at the bottom of her dungarees.

BUNNY AND BEES

This is the first time that I have managed two posts in one day....
Here I have a card that I have had in mind all week and as I've been so busy I've only just got around to making it.

The image is a Penny Black stamp~Bees and Bunny. The papers are a mix of  My Mind's Eye and Papermania. I've coloured with Promarkers. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I've used a Nestie and a Martha Stewart border punch.

ITS MY PARTY!!!

Today I have a birthday card that I made for a friend's daughter. The moment I saw this stamp I just knew I had to use it as it just reminds me of her. She's not naughty, she's adorable but she knows what she wants, even for an up and coming four year old.

The image is a Lili of the Valley stamp...I love all of these stamps. I have coloured her with Promarkers. The papers are My Mind's Eye 'quite contrary'. I've stickled the skirt and tiara. I've also used a Nestie and a Martha Stewart border punch. I found the little glittery number 4 in my stash...amazing what I seem to find in there.

JUST THINKING!!!

I made this card for no reason other than I had the time...and that doesn't happen very often.

I have so many rubber stamps that I've never actually got round to inking up and I'm beginning to feel just a little bit guilty about it. That was one of the reasons why I started this blog to encourage me to use my stash and not just look at it....but I can't help buying  just 'ONE' more stamp.

This is one of my mum's favourite stamps. It is 'Daisy', a Sugar Nellie stamp and I've coloured her with Promarkers. The paper is one I found in a pile of papers that I have had for ages...I think it was a Heidi Grace design. The random swirl to the right of the image is only there because silly me dropped a black ink pad on the finished card when I was tidying up....so this has become another of my 'artistic licence' mistakes, and yes I do tidy up.....sometimes.

MARY, MARY...

This is a card I made for my boyfriend's sister who had a birthday a few weeks ago...

and this is exactly how I've felt going round my garden, watering can in hand trying to look after my fifty or so plant pots while we're having this wonderful sunny weather...only I do wish for a little more rain...maybe during the night anyway.

The image is a Sarah Kay stamp, the papers are Basic Grey and I've coloured with Promarkers. Unfortunately its not a very good photo as the papers are darker than this but it was the best I could do as the light was quite poor when I took it.

CHICK CHICK CHICK

Its raining...at last....Don't get me wrong, I like the sunshine but I'm beginning to get a bit fed up wandering around the garden with my little watering can. I have about 50 pots and it does get a bit boring but if I don't do it I'll lose my plants and that's not a good plan....I'm no Percy Thrower but I do try my best.

Here are my ATC's that I made for April's swap over at ALI'S ATC SWAP-STOP! .

The theme was EASTER/NEW BEGINNINGS.  I used a Penny Black stamp and coloured with Promarkers. The papers/card, ribbon are all from my scraps box. I find ATC's a really good way of using up all those little left overs....can't bear to throw anything away in my craft room but funnily enough I don't hoard anything else...

60TH BIRTHDAY

Today I'd like to share a 60th birthday card that I was asked to make. I wanted to keep it fairly simple so I picked white and one other colour...pink....a lady's card....I had to make a box to put the card in because of the roses...didn't want them to get squashed into an envelope.

I embossed pieces of white card with various flower patterned embossing folders and cut out the 60 and the name using the Sizzlits Aphrodite alphabet...I use this alphabet quite a lot especially when I'm scrapbooking. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. On the box I used a few pieces of silver card for mounting and die cutting the name.

I should really have matched the flowers on the card and the box but its too late now...

OH BROTHER

I'm back on the boys cards again....This time its my brother's birthday, or it was yesterday anyway. I had two cards to make, one for myself and one for my mum to give him and as is my norm these days I left it until the very last minute. This is the card I made for my mum....

The image is a Lili of the Valley stamp and I've coloured him with Promarkers following a tutorial on the Lili of the Valley blog...surprised myself again with this one as it turned out just as it was supposed to. The papers are Basic Grey.

For my card I was beginning to run out of time so I cheated and used a decoupage sheet that I had...

The papers were from my scrap stash and I've had the little cork scrabble letters for ages. Not my best effort I must admit but my brother seemed to like the card. The image reminded me of when we were young and used to play games...he always used to win everything....mind you he was well known for cheating at all games be they cards, board games you name it....

A ROYAL CUPCAKE

I know this is a little late but on the day of the Royal Wedding we had a little family get together at my parents house. We all agreed to contribute to a buffet in the afternoon...'why oh why do we always have too much food'....My daughter decided to make another giant cupcake. This time with a red, white and blue theme and I promised I would put it on my blog.  So as promised Brogan here it is...sorry it took me so long...

It tasted lovely, with a strawberry filling....Where did that girl learn to make such a good sponge...?

Today I have another card that I made ages ago when I was experimenting with Distress Inks.  I was quite impressed with my attempt (it takes a lot for me to impress myself with my own efforts) and I liked the end result for a change.  I decided not to send it to the intended recipient but opted to keep it, to prove to myself I do get it right sometimes...I really do struggle with Inks for some reason.  I did make another card to send though....

The image is a Whiff of Joy stamp and the papers are Basic Grey. I made the flower following instructions on a tutorial on the Craftwork Cards blog sometime ago.

PARTY BALLOON

Its a beautiful day here today, the sun is shining and its fresh and a little breezy but beginning to warm up...looks as though its going to be another lovely day...just wish we could have a little rain in the evenings for the plants...just a 'little' mind.

Here is a another card I made just because I could. It isn't for anyone in particular.

I've used a Magnolia Tilda stamp. I love this one, she's so cute and I've also used some of my favourite papers...Papermania Rose Garden, I hate to admit it but I have three of these paper pads. She is coloured with Promarkers. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I've put glitter on her socks, the lace of her dress and also on her headband. I put a little Glossy Accents on the balloon to make it stand out.
