In At The Deep End...

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well and enjoying the weekend.

I don't have any crafty items to share today but I have got some photos of a recent trip to 'The Deep' in Hull.

At the beginning of the month it was Brogan's birthday and I asked her if there was anything she wanted to do....The reply was (and bear in mind she was 19)....'I want to go to The Deep mum'....strange I thought but we went along. It's been years since we first went and she wasn't very old at the time and it hadn't been opened long but as you can see from the photo's 'the children had a good time'.....even the 46 year olds!!!

Playing On The Interactive Boards

Gareth was quite put out when a 5 year old jumped in front of him and randomly pressed all the buttons on the activity board ~ and he'd spent ages sorting out the correct answers.....grown man ~ bottom lip out ~ not a pretty sight!!!

I think we all wanted to see the new penguins to be honest and we weren't disappointed...

And Just A Reminder That This Was The Day That We'd Also Paid A Visit To The Dentist

All in all we had a really good day out and we were also very impressed with our lunch in The Deep restaurant which was reasonably priced.....also the sun was shining so it made it a perfect day.

Christmas In August...

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Today I have a Christmas card to share....

I thought it was about time to make a start. I normally have the majority of my Christmas cards under wraps by now but I think I have managed about 4 or 5 which I have to say I'm not too impressed with.....I'm not very organised this year but I'm putting it down to stepping down from several Christmas DT posts and the fact Mr Mojo seems to have been absent for much of the year.

Anyway here goes....I'm on a mission now and thought I'd start with something very simple.

When I saw this die I just had to have it.

It is a Memory Box Grand Merry Christmas Script Die and I just love it. My card is very simple only using red and white card, silver mirri card, some white glitter card and pearls for the snowflakes and a small flat backed pearl medallion from The Hobby House for the centre of the larger snowflake.

And there you go....Job Done!

I think I'll be making a few more cards like this as I quite like the simplicity and the fact it didn't take too long to complete....which is good in my world at the moment!!!!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:~

A Stitch In Time...

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Today I have another card to share....This is part of a set of four cards that I made.

The papers are from my stash. The topper is from a set called Strawberry Tea from The Hobby House. I used some Kraft as my base card and co~ordinating blue card as a mount. I kept the design fairly simple and just added ribbon, a bow and pearls . I also used a Martha Stewart border punch....this is one of my favourites and tends to crop up on a lot of my cards.

I'm sorry but I've just noticed that the photo is a little wonky....Whoops!!!....too late now....

A Work In Progress.....

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Today I have something slightly different to share.....

This piece of stitching has been a work in progress for quite a long time but after seeing a recent post by the very talented Lynn B over at Happiness Is Cross Stitching I was inspired to share my progress here on my blog in the hope that I might get it finished.....and not leave it on it's frame in the corner of the room any longer.....

So the idea is....that if I post 'regular' updates of my stitching progress.....I may 'someday' complete this project.

Miribilia Autumn Queen

A Work In Progress

Sorry this is a rather grainy photo of my pattern/picture but you get the idea.....

I used to cross stitch all the time and have lost count of the pictures I have completed. Mirabilia were some of my favourite designs and I have two or three of these large completed projects hanging on my walls here at home and many more kits in drawers waiting to see the light of day....I remember once when clearing through my kits and projects my Dad pointed out that 'You would have to be a long time retired to complete that lot!.......We'll see......

If Only There Were More Hours In The Day.....

Beautiful Blooms

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

A few weeks ago I made a very simple card using a floral image from one of those fabulous coloured art pads from Lili Of The Valley.....my mum saw it and asked me to make half a dozen similar birthday cards to put in her card box for her friends birthdays.....and here they are.....

All the images are from Art Pad 27 ~ Beautiful Blooms and Art Pad 3 ~ Wild Flowers. The papers are also from Lili Of The Valley....and they match perfectly....it makes it so easy when you are making quick cards and don't have much time to spare. All the embellishments ~ pearls, lace, pearls strings....etc are from my stash and the sentiments were printed on my computer.

I have tried to keep them all very simple as I didn't want to distract attention from these gorgeous images.

Just Because...

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Today I have the fourth and last of my cards to share that was published in the July issue of Papercraft Essentials magazine.

All the items used to make this card were from The Hobby House except for the papers which are from Lili Of The Valley. The image is a pre~coloured topper which is great when you don't have a lot of time for colouring.

I have to say I really enjoyed working with these toppers, papers and embellishments but I really need to get back to colouring some images up myself......I'm so out of practice....I just need more hours in the day.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Have a lovely evening.

Fairy Wishes

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are well on this Bank Holiday Monday.

It's wet here but I don't have plans other than to potter and maybe a bit of crafting....we were at a 50's themed party last night so we're a bit tired.....Thank goodness we don't have to go to work today....we're too old for late nights....not match fit so to speak!!!.....

Today I have a card to share.....

A while a go I treated myself to some new Stamping Bella stamps and this is Faith The Fairy. I coloured with my Copic markers....oooohh I am so out of practice..... The papers are from Lili Of The Valley. The pearls and flower button are from The Hobby House. The lace ribbon is slightly stretchy and worked well as a triple bow. I added some Stickles to the frill on her dress and finished off with Liquid Pearl dots around the stamped image and a sentiment from Lili Of The Valley.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:~

Little Sailor Boy

Good evening everyone.

I hope you are all well.

I've decided to have a quiet Bank Holiday weekend....and the weather is being kind at the moment, although the early mornings and evenings are becoming decidedly chillier.

Today I have a card to share, this time for a little boy.

Again I have used a topper from The Hobby House but I promise I have started to colour some images again.....I'm so out of practise.

I have used some of my favourite spotty papers from Craft Creations Ltd.....ooohhh I just love these spotty papers. The image is a pre coloured topper from a set called Sailor Crew from The Hobby House. I used dark blue card and Kraft to mount the image, die cut the little banner and added some cork alphabet tiles, some pearls and a computer generated sentiment to finish off.....quick and simple.....but I like it!!!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:~

Little Friends

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

There's definitely been a change in the weather...an early morning chill creeping in and darker mornings....but I can't complain the weather has been kind this summer....

And I'm quite pleased re my Table Top/Craft Fair efforts on Sunday....although, sadly there wasn't a great turn out....I managed to do reasonably well and sold quite a bit of my old bits and bobs....all proceeds being added to the laptop fund.....Brogan needs a new one for when she goes to University....I may just try another Table Top in October....

Anyway today I have another card to share....

This lovely topper is from The Hobby House and is part of a set of six called ~ Little Friends. The papers are from Lili Of The Valley. I have used a Nestie die to mount the image and a border punch from Martha Stewart. The flowers are from Prima I think.....I've had these for ages and don't use them as often as I should. The pearls are also from The Hobby House and I've just added some dots of Liquid Pearls around the image and finished off with a computer generated sentiment.

Feeding Teddy...

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

I've been awake for hours....his 'Lordship' was up early for his usual Sunday morning bike ride with his uncle and friends but this usually means 'One Up....All Up!!!....and I'm doing a Table Top/Craft Fair later this afternoon so I hope I can stay awake and motivated.....he does insist that at least I get a cup of tea in bed and I will get a cooked breakfast when he gets back so I suppose that's a bonus....Right?.....

Today I have a card to share....yes I know I'm sorry it is another topper but I am managing to get some colouring done now.....

Front View

Open

The papers are from my stash and I have to admit to struggling a bit trying to match up papers with this topper but I think it worked in the end....can't imagine why I struggled so much really!!!

The topper is from a set called Strawberry Tea from The Hobby House. I used some Kraft as my base card and co~ordinating blue card as a mount. I tried to keep the design fairly simple and just added ribbon, a bow and pearls and a computer generated sentiment. I also used my all time favourite border punch for the opening edge for the image mount....all in all I have to say I'm quite pleased with the result.....

Right now.....I'm going to try and organize myself for the Table Top/Craft Fair this afternoon.

I have added lots of stamps and craft items to my pile of things to....shall we say....Recycle....I've even added some unused Lili Of The Valley stamps which somehow I seem to have doubled up on.....not sure how that happened and about 30 handmade cards that are in need of a new home.

So if you are in the area do pop in...

For Being You!

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Today I have yet another card to share that was published in the July issue of Papercraft Essentials magazine. There were four cards altogether and this is my third one.....only one more to go.

All the items used to make this card were from The Hobby House except for the papers which are from Lili Of The Valley. The image is a pre~coloured topper which are fabulous if you need to make a quick card and don't have the time for colouring.

I am still struggling with time at the moment....not enough hours in the day but I will try to catch up with you all and comment on your creations soon.

I have been having a good sort out in my craft room lately....trying to whittle down some of my stash....there is so much in there that I don't use.....I have given quite a bit to the local Girl Guide group for their crafting sessions and I have booked a table at a small local tabletop/craft fair for this Sunday afternoon.....

Along with the usual table top items from the major cupboard, drawer and loft clear out I have added lots of unwanted craft items including about 50 stamps (many unused) which I have decided to part with..........so if you are in the local vicinity on Sunday at 1pm you may be able to pick up a few crafting bargains...I may also take along a few handmade cards.

Hello There!!!

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Today I have another card to share.....

I seem to be managing to have a little me time at the moment....not sure how with all these very late and very long shifts at work but I think I'm slowly getting my enthusiasm back for crafting.....it seems as though Mr Mojo has had a very long holiday this year.....

The papers are from my scraps stash which I'm whittling down nicely....The image is a pre~coloured topper from Kenny K called Sweet Melissa from The Hobby House. I've added pearls and a ribbon also from The Hobby House. I then used my favourite decorative nestie die to mount the image and distressed the edges adding some Stickles and finished off by adding some Liquid Pearl dots and a computer generated sentiment.

I have spent lots of time de~cluttering at home lately and have booked a table at a local table top sale in a few weeks so I'm hoping to make a few pennies to spend on more craft stash.....

I have found it very liberating tidying out cupboards, drawers, sheds and lofts and it's amazing the things that you find.....

Wedding Cake

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Today I have card to share....my niece is going to a wedding next weekend and she asked me to make a card. I had no instructions other than 'wedding'....

So this is what I came up with....

I thought I would stick to a 'something blue' theme and a little bit vintage.....the blues are actually  softer in reality but the sun....'no I'm not complaining' has been making it somewhat difficult when taking photos.....anyway this is the result of my somewhat rusty card making skills.

I have made a card similar to this one in the past and it went down very well so I thought I would do it again....just changing the card size, ribbon and pearl colours.

My Birthday Girl...

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all well.

The heavens have opened here and its thundering and lightening and I'm loving it....I love watching the storms especially as it was so warm and muggy this morning.

Today it it my daughter's 19th birthday....I don't know where all those years have gone.

Happy Birthday Brogan.

We Love You All The Way To The Moon And Back....

I used to read 'How Much Do I Love You' to her all the time when she was small and it was our favourite story and this is the phrase we now use to each other to finish cards, notes, texts etc....

This is a photo of her taken at a wedding in the Spring.

And this is the card I made for her which I have already blogged on here previously.

She is away in London this weekend at a show....and of course knowing her 'Shopping'.

Friday 1 August 2014

Bless You!

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Today I would like to share a wooden tissue box cover that I decorated as part of a set.

The papers are from Lili Of The Valley and all the other items used including the wooden tissue box cover came from The Hobby House.

This was a relatively easy but non the less enjoyable project although I had to keep making sure that I was sticking things the correct way up so that the tissue box hole remained at the top of the box so you could get to the tissues when needed........can you tell I nearly stuck something the wrong way up!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
