The Holly Fairy - Stitching Progress

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all well.

It has been a perfect Spring day here...beautiful sunshine and lovely clear blue skies. I hope the weather has been kind to you too this Good Friday.

We have been out and about visiting family and new puppies, we had a lovely walk through a local wood, a visit to a Chelsea award winning Alpine nursery to collect some new plants for the rockery and the tin bath in the garden and we finished off with a meal out in a country pub...a perfect day!

I just wanted to share the progress I have made so far with...

The Holly Fairy

Progress as of 06/03/2016

Progress as of 25/03/2016

I'm quite pleased with my progress so far and I am still being good...sticking to what my physiotherapist said, 'Little and Often'....plus now I am back at work full time 'almost' I'm usually too worn out in the evenings to sit and sew....until I get used to the long days on my feet again that is!!!. I know you'd think I would be used to it after nearly 29 years but having to take 6 months off work with my neck problem has really made an impact....but I'm getting there.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Trying Something New....

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all well.

It's been a couple of weeks since I last blogged...I have had a dreadful cold and chest infection but I'm on the mend now....typically though it happened during my weeks holiday...

Anyway I thought I would have a go at something new....for me anyway.

Some decoupage....

Now this is my first attempt and I must admit I didn't really know what I was doing but I'm quite thrilled with my little bear....

This little 'naked' bear had been sat on my craft room desk for at least a year....shame on me....but I hadn't found any papers that really inspired me to have a go until I was in The Range last weekend and saw this beautiful butterfly paper....

He is now in pride of place on my desk and fully clothed....

Whitby...My Favourite Place.

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

So I have been back at work six weeks now and all seems to be 'ok' with my neck so far...I am now on holiday for a week as I am owed quite a lot of leave and it was decided that it would be a good time to take it before Easter.

Many of my readers here on my blog and all my friends know that Whitby is my favourite place and I take every possible chance to visit....except this week as my plans have been thwarted.

You see my lovely partner is working there for the next ten days but I wasn't allowed to go. I'm sure I will find plenty to do this week though.

Anyway I have been lucky enough to visit Whitby four times already this year which is some going....

In January we stayed here....well we stay here a lot to be honest.....

We just change rooms so we can see what they are all like...I'm nosey you understand. On this occasion we had the room you can see above the front doors. (Not the little window, the two windows above that).

Now I had to take this photo before I allowed Mr T in the door as I can tell you now it would never look like this beautiful, neat and tidy space again for the duration of his stay....

We always have an evening meal here and it is always fabulous.

My first stop on arrival...which is always very early as I can't stand wasting any time in Whitby....is this little beach.

This particular morning was bitter cold with flurries of snow in the air and there had been a high tide the night before....and as always at this time in the morning....it was just me.

Now this is what I call a piece of drift wood....

And yes I do build these...

And then spend a bit of time searching the beach for sea-glass...

Then its off to my favourite cake shop for tea and cake...

Ok...as we all know...Diets always start on a Monday!

Until Mr T comes to find me...

I love this place and I love my little ritual when I arrive...it's always the same and never alters and I doubt it ever will.

I love the sea, I have been brought up by the sea and will never tire of the sea....

I always feel calmed and soothed by the sea.....and especially this sea!!!......

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

A Lovely Day...

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Today I would like to share the gorgeous gift and roses that my lovely daughter gave me on Sunday - Mother's Day.

As always she really thought about her gift and I am thrilled to bits with her lovely idea.

My gift was a keyring with her favourite photograph of us on it....and a personal message engraved on the back.

This photograph was taken before she went off to her prom.

And here are my beautiful flowers...

I love roses so these were perfect....

We took a walk to my parents for Sunday lunch and dad had been watching Mary Berry last week and we were treated to a wonderful meal....as always.

This was the card I made for mum...

Still attempting to get back in the swing of things with the card making but I'm trying.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Friday Night With Friends - Cross Stitch

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

On Friday evening I  joined in with like minded crafter's from around the world who get together (virtually) that is.....on the first Friday of the month to do a spot of knitting, sewing, crocheting etc....whatever craftiness you choose....

This month I decided to make a start on

The Holly Fairy

I have had this project ready for ages and thought it was time to make a start...I bought the beautiful variegated hand dyed linen ages ago specifically for this piece at The Harrogate Knitting And Stitching Show.

So here goes...

And this is where I got up to...

Not much I know but at least it's a start.

I continue to be good and stick to the policy of little and often given that I have just returned to work after six month's off with my neck problem.

As for work I have been back about a month now and I am easing in slowly, keeping up with my exercises, hot stone massage and physio and so far all seems to be going well....I know I will just have to be sensible.....

I'm so pleased that I made the effort to join in again this month and also managed to get something done....I will definitely be taking part again next month.....the dates already in my diary.

Now I can spend a bit of time having a look at what everyone else was doing.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

And

Happy Mother's Day

To all the lovely mums in the UK today.

Sleep Tight My Little Champion....

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

I'm sorry for my lack of blogging and commenting but last week I had to make the heart breaking decision to say 'Goodbye' to my 'Little Champion' Bertie....my sweet, loving, cute, but fiercely protective Westie.

'Bertie'

He was my boy and my constant companion for 13 years and I now feel a bit like Peter Pan....my shadow has vanished and I can't find it.....him....

We were together always and he knew all my secrets as I talked to him constantly....and now the house is so quiet without him.

He had been unwell for a few weeks but I knew it was time to let him go.....

This was his favourite place....

Commander of the big chair and guardian of the garden gate.

He could survey his estate from here....

So as you can see this was his place...

And did you know this is the best way to hide your doggy treats from the other dogs.....and to hide from mum when you are going for a trim....

He was incredibly cute...

And funny...

And liked a spot of tele...

And we loved him very much...

Sweet dreams my little man...

God Bless.

I miss him so much.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.
