Day 22 of Julie's Advent Scavenger Hunt

And the prompt is

Father Christmas

A work in progress....

Lavender & Lace

The Spirit Of Christmas

Goodness I can't even remember when I put this piece of work on the frame, when I blogged about it or when I last put a stitch to it but it is on my 'To Do' list for 2018......or not....who knows......!

Advent Calendar Day 21 - Winter

Hi there everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Day 21 of Julie's Advent Scavenger Hunt

And the prompt was

Winter

This is a very special photograph for me, taken on the road from Whitby to Pickering in January 2016, 15 minutes before we had our car accident....although I blogged about it and made fairly light of it at the time, see post here, looking back now I realise how serious it was and that we are so very lucky to be alive.....

But alive we are and grateful for everyday we have.....it makes you realise how incredibly precious life is and how very fragile too. God was watching over us that day......sadly I never did find out who the wonderful family were who helped and looked after me but I thank God they were there and remember them always in my prayers.....

I still love Winter and I still love the snow and the magical scenes they create but I am deeply aware of how things can change in a matter of seconds, how dangerous and hazardous this beauty can be and also how very precious our lives are....a life for which I am truly grateful.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Another Christmas card that I made a few years back.....

Sadly I haven't managed to make any Christmas cards again this year as all my crafting things for card making are still boxed up since our move....but hopefully next year my new craftroom will have been built (must speak to the builder husband about this!!!....) and I may manage to make a few family cards at least.....

Where is the time going!....

The prompt today is

Tree After Dressed

This is the tree that came from our old home and I am quite attached to it....maybe next year we will have a new tree and this little number will be moved to the snug.

We have just finished renovating this room but we are still waiting for the rug to arrive and the curtains and new cushions to be finished but we'll get there.....

I love our new wood burner....and log store (waiting for logs too)....all building work by my very clever husband.....

Christmas Crackers

(Top two photographs courtesy of the lovely and very talented Phillipa Buss - Pears Photography).

Well I couldn't find any photographs of Christmas crackers but we had these crackers made as wedding favours for our wedding in April this year.....I loved them and they were perfect for our table settings.

Advent Calendar Day 13 - First Christmas Card Received In The Post.

Hi there everyone.

I hope you are all well.

I know, I know, I know....here I am playing catch up again....

On Day 13 of Julie's Advent Scavenger Hunt

The prompt was

First Christmas Card Received In The Post

This is a lovely card sent by a very dear family friend who lives in Bury, Lancashire (where my mother comes from).

I was christened on a snowy Christmas Eve 50 years ago at Guardian Angels Church in Bury.....not that I remember anything about it as I was only four weeks old at the time but I have spent a lot of time in Bury since.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Tuesday 12 December 2017

Advent Calendar Day 12 - Angel

Hello everyone.

I hope you are all well.

So we are on to Day 12 of Julie's Advent Scavenger Hunt.

And today's prompt is

Angel

Another decoration from our tree. There are seven of these angels....all different.

They belong to my daughter and were given to her by my mum. She had collected 21 or more over time and then decided to split them between her three grand-daughters. Brogan, my daughter was given all the blonde/fair haired ones as she is blonde....my brothers girl's got the dark haired angels as they dark haired.

They are beautiful and are rather delicate and my tree won't look the same when my daughter eventually leaves home and takes them for her own tree.....

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Monday 11 December 2017

Advent Calendar Day 11 - Snowman

Hello everyone.

I can't believe it's Day 11 already of Julie's Advent Scavenger Hunt.

Today's prompt is

Snowman

Ok....I know this is a 'Snow-Woman' but her husband, the little skating 'Snowman' is at the back of our Christmas tree this year so I couldn't get round to photograph him....so 'Snow-Woman' will have to do I'm afraid.

I bought these years ago and can't remember where I got them....nevermind I'm sure it'll come to me.....eventually.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Advent Calendar Day 10 - Holly & Ivy

Hi there everyone.

I hope you are all well.

 Day 10 of Julie's Advent Scavenger Hunt.....and I'm a day late again....sorry

Yesterday's  prompt was

Holly & Ivy

This is my daughter's sheet music for the trumpet for the carol 'The Holly & The Ivy'. Her music book is 'vintage'....it's old!!!

She is trying to learn all her music for next week when she along with the rest of her marching band will be playing carols on the prom....Brrrrr....it's going to be so cold.....Bless them!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Advent Calendar Day 9 - Christmas Bauble

Hello there again everyone.

It's already Day 9 of Julie's Advent Scavenger Hunt.....where did that go!!!...

And today's prompt is

Christmas Bauble

As our tree isn't up yet and all decorations are still packed away I thought I would share some of the Christmas cards/decorations that I have made for Christmas's gone by that have a bauble on....

With matching gift bag...

And finally a tea light decoration

It ages since I made a card or gift item like these...maybe I should add that to my increasing 'To Do' list in the New Year.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Friday 8 December 2017

Advent Calendar Day 8 - Sleigh

Hello everyone.

I hope you are all well.

It's on to Day 8 of Julie's Advent Scavenger Hunt.

And today's prompt is

Sleigh

I struggled with this one a little bit but then remembered I had bought six of these cross stitch beaded tree ornaments to make to go with the Santa's I had started......so I think I now have seven more Santa's to make and now these sleighs. That should keep me out of trouble....!!!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Thursday 7 December 2017

Advent Calendar Day 7 - Bell(s)

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well.

It's Day 7 of Julie's Advent Scavenger Hunt.

And today's prompt is

Bell(s)

This is my little man...Monty. He is now 15 weeks old and very happy to wear a bell on his collar....we're very happy too as we know where he is!!!!...

It's not the best picture of a bell but I have found another

Bell(s)....

Trumpet Bell

This is my lovely daughter tuning up to play 'The Last Post' at the cenotaph this year.

I was incredibly proud of her and it certainly brought tears to my eyes especially as she has only been playing the trumpet for 18 months or so.

With other members of the ECE marching band...

and another bell....

Bell Of The Ball

My daughter and her boyfriend Matthew dancing the waltz for charity.

They learnt the waltz in 8 weeks and danced for Cancer Research.

They did amazingly well and came second, by one point with a score of 29.....

Another reason to be a proud mum.....

And the ballroom shoes she was wearing (had) belonged to Joanne Clifton no less....Brogan was very lucky to be able to wear them....

A very special 'Thanks' to Joanne's mum and Joanne of course for loaning them to her for this event....I'm sure they brought her luck....x

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.
